Frequently Asked Questions
What's covered under the warranty?
WKforgeworks knives and tools are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship for as long as the original owner owns the product. If a knife fails due to a manufacturing defect, WKforgeworks will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the product with one of equal value.
The warranty does not cover rust, corrosion, normal wear and tear, cosmetic scratches, misuse, abuse, improper maintenance, accidents, loss, theft, or damage caused by modifications or third-party alterations. The complete warranty informaion can be seen here.
Orders/Returns
All WKforgeworks sales are final. Due to the handmade and limited nature of our products, we do not accept returns, refunds, or exchanges.
If you experience an issue related to craftsmanship or a manufacturing defect, please contact WKforgeworks directly for warranty evaluation and support.
Do you sharpen knives?
Yes. Every WKforgeworks blade includes free lifetime edge sharpening for the life of the knife.
Customers are responsible for shipping costs both to and from WKforgeworks, but sharpening labor is provided at no charge. Additional tune-up or repair services may also be available depending on the condition of the knife. For more information click here.
What are the sharpening angle of these knives?
The edges on all of our knives are applied by hand. We do our best to maintain a 20 degree (per side) edge angle but due to the hand application, they may vary slightly. We suggest using a Spyderco Sharpmaker for general edge maintenance or a flat diamond hone.
Will my knives rust and what do I do about it?
Our carbon steel knives are made from high carbon 1095 steel, and while 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for – especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user’s responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH.
My blade is broken what do I do?
If your WKforgeworks knife or tool has failed, please contact us at wkforgeworks@gmail.com with photos and a description of the issue.
Each knife will be evaluated to determine whether the damage was caused by a manufacturing defect or by misuse, abuse, normal wear, improper maintenance, or modifications.
If the issue is determined to be covered under warranty, WKforgeworks may repair or replace the knife at our discretion. If the damage is not covered under warranty, repair options may still be available for an additional service fee.
The complete warranty informaion can be seen here.
What about Bevel Re-Grinds?
If your knife’s bevels have been reground or modified by a third party, your WKforgeworks warranty will not be voided unless those modifications directly contribute to the issue being evaluated.
